Terms & Subscription
What you are agreeing to when you use VastQR, what we charge, and what happens when you stop. Written to describe what the product actually does — including the parts that are less convenient for us to say.
Last updated 15 September 2026.
1. The service
VastQR creates and manages dynamic QR codes. A dynamic code is a short link we host: the printed code never changes, and you can change where it points afterwards without reprinting anything. When someone scans it, the request reaches us and we forward it to whatever destination you have set.
The paid plan covers up to 500 active dynamic QR codes on your account, together with the bulk tools for creating and updating them and the scan analytics for the codes you own.
Because the redirect is hosted by us, a dynamic code only keeps working while your account is entitled to it. Section 6 says exactly what that means.
2. Your account
You need an account to create codes. You are responsible for what happens under it, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself, and for the destinations you point your codes at.
An account is for one customer — a person or an organisation.
3. Starting your subscription
We are saying that first rather than in a footnote. VastQR does not currently offer a free trial of any length. Starting a subscription charges your card immediately.
| What happens | |
|---|---|
| Charged today | US$19, when you start |
| Billing cycle | Monthly, from the date you started |
| After that | US$19/month, month to month, until you cancel |
If we introduce a free trial in the future, this page will say so plainly, with its own terms, before it applies to any account — a trial is a commercial term we would disclose here, not something that starts silently because a setting changed elsewhere.
4. Subscription and renewal
The plan is US$19 per month. It is a rolling month-to-month subscription and it renews automatically until you cancel it. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
Each renewal is charged on the date our payment provider holds for your subscription, which is shown in your billing settings. We do not keep a separate schedule of our own.
Prices are in US dollars. If we change the price, we will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
5. Cancelling
You cancel from Manage billing in your dashboard, which opens our payment provider’s billing portal. You do not need to email us and you do not need to ask.
We would rather state this plainly than have you discover it. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not end the period you are currently in.
You keep access until the end of that paid month, and then it ends. There is no further charge, and the month you already paid for is not refunded — see section 7. The cancellation is scheduled rather than immediate, and you can see the date it takes effect in your billing settings.
6. What happens to your QR codes when the subscription ends
This is the part worth reading twice, because it affects things you may have already printed.
When your subscription ends, your dynamic QR codes stop resolving. Someone scanning one gets a page telling them the code is not active. That is a consequence of what a dynamic code is: the printed square points at a link we host, and we stop hosting it when the account is no longer subscribed.
Your codes and their data are not deleted. Your account, your batches, your destinations and your scan history remain, and subscribing again makes the same codes resolve again — the same printed material starts working, without reprinting.
An expired card is usually replaced within a day or two, and taking a restaurant’s menu offline over it would be the wrong response. So for an established subscription we keep serving your codes for a short recovery window while the payment is retried. This is a grace period we operate, not an entitlement — if the payment is not recovered, the subscription ends and section 6 applies.
7. Refunds
Once a monthly payment has been taken, it is not refunded. Cancelling stops future renewals rather than reversing a month you have already paid for, and we do not prorate part-months. You keep access for the rest of that paid month.
This does not affect any refund right you have under the law where you live, which applies regardless of what this page says.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use VastQR to point people at anything that is:
- unlawful, or in support of unlawful activity;
- deceptive about where the link goes — including impersonating another business, service or person;
- malware, phishing, or a page designed to harvest credentials;
- infringing on someone else’s copyright, trade mark or other rights;
- abusive, harassing, or sexual material involving minors.
A QR code hides its destination until it is scanned, which is exactly what makes misuse of one worth taking seriously. We may suspend or remove codes, or close an account, where we find this section has been broken.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the redirect service running continuously, because printed codes depend on it. We do not offer a guaranteed uptime figure, and we are not going to invent one here: maintenance happens, and so do failures at providers we depend on.
We may change the product, and we may change these terms. Where a change materially affects what you are paying for, we will tell you before it applies to you. Continuing to use VastQR after a change means the updated terms apply.
We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 8. If we discontinue the service, we will give you notice and will not charge you for a period we do not deliver.
10. Your data and privacy
What we store, why, and for how long is set out in full in our Privacy & Cookies page rather than repeated here. In short: card details go to our payment provider and never reach our servers, and we do not sell your data or share it with advertising networks.
